The Tinies (52×11′ + 52×3′), a character-driven sitcom comedy by MIAM! animation, aims to entertain upper preschoolers and give them the taste for upcycling. In addition to the 11-minute series, 52×3′ stop motion tutorials will be produced so that children can learn how to reproduce at home the crafts they’ve seen in the series.

The stories take place in the attic of a house, in a town built by toys with daily packagings well-known to kids. In Attic town, the little toy inhabitants all have their own defaults, qualities and daily mood…Living in harmony can be quite a challenge! Luckily for them, they can count on our two heroes, Oli, an enthusiastic and self-confident doll, and her best friend Titus, a tiny shy toy super talented for crafts. Ollie and Titus make it their mission to work together to resolve Attic Town’s day-to-day problems.

Hanna Mouchez, producer of the series, stated:

Designing your own playsets and accessories boosts your self-confidence like nothing else! It’s watching kids crafting DIY toys in creative workshops that inspired us to create the show. The Tinies fosters creativity, promotes DIY projects, builds self-confidence, and, best of all, helps reduce plastic waste. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Canal+ and VRT on this project.

Distributed worldwide by MIAM! distribution, The Tinies has already been prebought by several international broadcasters, including TV5 Monde, Télé-Québec (Canada), RTE (Ireland), LTV (Latvia), ERR (Estonia) and Bein (MENA). At the same time, Canal+ announces that the series has been commissioned by Flemish public broadcaster VRT / Ketnet. MIAM! welcomes on board Belgian producers Panique! and Lunanime to coproduce the show.

The series is primarily created using real-time CGI (Unreal Engine 5.3), allowing a photo-realistic rendering that aligns with the series concept, as children can easily recognize everyday packagings. Thanks to this innovative pipeline, the estimated global carbon footprint of the show amounts 133 tons eqCO2. To make this calculation, MIAM! studio used the Carbulator, the carbon footprint calculator dedicated to the animation industry and developed by Anim France, the French union of independant producers.
