Anima, The Brussels Animation Film Festival, seeks to promote animated films from all over the world and encourage dialogue between professionals, filmmakers and the public. In addition to attracting professionals from all over the world, Anima is also a popular and family festival that welcomes more than 40,000 festival-goers every year.
The 44rd edition of the Brussels International Animation Film Festival will take place from February 28 to March 9, 2025.
The Festival presents an official selection with a national and international competition for short and feature films, an information category with retrospective and themed programmes, and a series of conferences entitled Futuranima.
Anima is also a qualifying festival for the ACADEMY AWARD® for Best Animated Short Film and awards a wide range of international animated films.
Anima considers all films completed after June 2023 and belonging to the following categories as eligible for competition:
- Feature Films
- Feature Films for Children
- International Professional Short Films
- International Student Films
- International Short Films for a Young Audience
- National Short Films
