2024 marks the sixth edition of the CEE Animation Workshop, the year-long project development and producer skills advancement training programme designed for film professionals working in the field of animation. This year the first module took place in February in Vilnius, Lithuania, followed by the second module, conducted online at the end of April.
The third module will soon start in the picturesque coastal town of Opatija, Croatia, where 28 participants from 13 different countries will gather between 29 July and 4 August 2024 to deepen their knowledge and improve their skills in animation content production. They will also receive individual feedback by international experts and their colleagues on their projects in development.
Throughout the week, 12 animated projects will be further developed through one-on-one sessions, group work, and various lectures and masterclasses. Esteemed producers Tonje Skar Reiersen (Mikrofilm, Norway) and Corinne Destombes (Folimage, France), along with experienced script consultants Phil Parker (United Kingdom) and Rita Domonyi (Hungary), will serve as group leaders, guiding participants in preparing their projects for market access.
Additionally, the CEE Animation Workshop will host an Open Industry Day in Opatija on July 31 and August 1, where approximately 20 Croatian animation industry professionals will join workshop participants for masterclasses, lectures, and networking opportunities.
CEE Animation Workshop in Opatija is organized by the Slovene Animated Film Association – DSAF, CEE Animation, Slovak Association of Animated Film Producers – APAF, Polish Animation Producers Association – SPPA, and supported by Creative Europe – MEDIA, Croatian Audiovisual Centre – HAVC and Ministry of Public Administration, Republic of Slovenia.
