Ukranian animation studio Animagrad, part of FILM.UA Group, announced its collaboration with Telescope Animation for the launch of Family Squad, a groundbreaking Ukrainian satirical animation.
The project, co-developed with Telescope Animation, follows the success of Mavka: The Forest Song and aims to venture into the realm of life-affirming satire.
Family Squad is a 2D full-length animation in the dramedy genre tailored for young adults. The story revolves around Serhii Punko, a 30-year-old gas station worker whose life takes an unexpected turn when he finds himself in heaven due to a mistake by the angel of death. To return to life, Serhii must find at least one person who needs him. His journey brings him to the frontline with the Chop Pirates unit, where he finds friends, strengthens his character, and saves a child’s life.
Antonio Lukich, known for My Thoughts Are Silent and Luxembourg, Luxembourg, joins the team as the creative producer. The project’s concept was developed by Mykhailo Karpenko, Ivan Bon, Pavlo Mandzych, and Ervin Nimets.
