The three year deal will see Fauna Entertainment manage all aspects of brand development of the iconic brand MOLANG in Turkey, across licensing, publishing, content and social media.
MOLANG started life in 2010 as a doodle by Hye Ji Yoon, a Korean illustrator, and quickly grew into a digital sensation in its country. Having acquired global rights in 2015, Millimages developed MOLANG with French author Marie-Caroline Villand. She created the character, its values and its universe, through a preschool TV series of 6 seasons, over 300 episodes and sold in 190 countries.
Today, MOLANG gathers 30 billion views on GIPHY and almost 9 million social media followers. It has now evolved into a lifestyle brand with a successful consumer products programme, supported by 18 international licensing agents.
Emre Aksoy, CBO, Fauna Entertainment, commented:
We are delighted to represent MOLANG, it is such a cute brand that will resonate very well in the Turkish market. This is an exciting opportunity to not only bring popular but also quality brands to the Turkish market. Working together with Millimages, we will grow the brand with a 360 approach, using Molang’s strong exposure on digital platforms to establish an exciting consumer product and publishing line.
Fauna Entertainment is a leading Turkish entertainment company that specialises in the development, production, distribution, licensing and brand management of linear and nonlinear kid’s content including Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, True and The Rainbow Kingdom, Cry Babies, and Hello Neighbour among others.
Alexandra Algard-Mikanowski, Millimages’ Commercial Director, added:
We are very pleased to be working with Fauna to launch MOLANG in Turkey. It’s a great opportunity to establish the property in a new region and to expand into MENAT territories. Fauna’s 360 approach – on Youtube and in Licensing – will provide a solid base for local licensees to develop a successful range of products.
