Featured Highlights
In this latest issue, we shine a spotlight on the contributions of notable industry leaders, featuring Studio 100 and their exciting new franchise, DINO MATES, as well as Ibrido Studio with their upcoming feature film anthology Dark Horses. We also showcase the works of Lithuanian studio Tauras Films and UK-based Magic Light Pictures, insightful interviews with Mediawan Kids and Family, France Televisions, Qvisten Animation, and Silex Animation, among others!
One of the highlights is an entire section (10 pages!) dedicated to Cartoon Movie, where we delve into the latest trends and projects shaping the future of animation. This feature aims to provide readers with insights into the festival’s rich offerings and the works on display.
In addition, we shine a Spotlight on Germany, bringing you captivating stories and perspectives from events such as Berlinale and the European Film Market (EFM), and a focus on the upcoming Stuttgart Animated Week. This feature emphasises Germany’s burgeoning animation scene and celebrates its contributions to the industry, providing an in-depth look at financing systems, films and talents making waves on the international stage.
We also provide an insightful exploration of Animar and the critical principles of Green Animation. This segment underscores the importance of sustainability in the animation industry and highlights initiatives that are making a positive impact on the environment. Animar’s working groups, formed by animation experts and chaired by the Animation in Europe board, delved into four discussion topics – Legal Framework for European Animation AV Works, Fostering European Animation Coproductions, AI&Animation, Green Animation – seeking to encourage transformative policy initiatives. The European Animation Journal will share the results of Animar’s report in upcoming issues.
