With a new chapter in the history of our forum and the first “Spotlight on…”, Young Horizons Industry bring the audience closer to the vibrant Croatian audiovisual industry with lots of co-production and location possibilities, outstanding talents, and great love for films and series for young audiences.

Young Horizons Industry is a co-production forum and meeting hub for film professionals who are passionate about making films and series for young audiences. It takes place every autumn as part of the Young Horizons International Film Festival in Warsaw, Poland.

The goal of the forum is simple: helping creators connect with potential partners. By bringing together projects and industry players, we are creating a space where you can exchange ideas and form partnerships.

Spotlight on Croatia will be a part of the main programme of the 9th Young Horizons Industry, the 3-day event for film professionals that will take place between 29 September and 1 October in Warsaw.

Zofia Horszczaruk, Head of Young Horizons Industry, said:

We are proud to welcome the Croatian Audiovisual Centre as our Country in Focus partner. With a growing number of remarkable productions and a strong track record as a co-production partner, Croatia stands out as a dynamic force on the international scene. We invite the industry to discover the creative potential and collaborative spirit that define Croatian filmmaking today.

As a main audiovisual agency in Croatia, the Croatian Audiovisual Centre has assumed overall responsibility for the growth of Croatia’s audiovisual industry. The Croatian Audiovisual Centre supports development, production, distribution, exhibition, marketing, and promotion, as well as film festivals, professional training, education, national film archive, and international cooperation through the system of public subsidies.

The Centre also administers the Croatian rebate scheme for film and television production, aimed at encouraging inward investment.

Jadranka Hrga, Head of Department for Development, Film Production and Complementary Activities at Croatian Audiovisual Centre, added:

It is always our pleasure to cooperate with Young Horizons. Many Croatian participants have had great professional experiences attending past editions, so we are very grateful to be this year’s Country in Focus. We look forward to presenting our growing and vibrant audiovisual scene – experienced, award-winning, and respected professionals, as well as an emerging generation of filmmakers, bringing their very different and diverse projects, all deeply committed to creating great content for children and youth. This is a great opportunity for professionals to meet and discuss the future and the changes in the audiovisual landscape, to develop and work on their passion projects, and to share ideas and creativity with their colleagues.

The full programme for Spotlight on Croatia will be announced in September.
