The Sam & Julia brand continues to grow, capturing the hearts of children and families worldwide. With a big relaunch, new storybooks, plush toys, and TV episodes, March promises to be a magical month for the world of Sam & Julia in France.

Sam & Julia / The Mouse Mansion is a successful Dutch book series, created by Karina Schaapman. Karina built the Mouse Mansion as the backdrop for her books about Sam & Julia. It is entirely made out of cardboard boxes, waste materials and vintage fabrics. The Mouse Mansion and other backdrops for the book series are on display at the museum and brand store in Amsterdam.

The Sam & Julia brand inspires families around the world to be creative, welcoming and kind. To date, 23 books featuring Sam and Julia have been published. Over 1 million books have been sold internationally since 2011, in 27 languages. A unique range of plush and arts & crafts products has been developed to help fans build their own mouse mansions. Starting in 2024, the brand-new animated series based on the books launches internationally on TV and streaming platforms.

In March 2025, fans of Karina Schaapman’s Mouse Mansion series can look forward to the release of the very first four storybooks based on the animated series by Larousse.

Carine Girac Marinier, Director of the Dictionaries, Encyclopedia, and Extracurricular Department said:

The Larousse editions are delighted to publish beautiful albums featuring Sam and Julia, the heroes of the popular animated series aired on Okoo. Through this engaging and caring universe, young children aged 3 to 6 will joyfully and playfully discover the concepts of sharing, welcoming, and living together.

Léon-Gilbert Hus, Producer, added:

After bringing Sam & Julia to life on screen, seeing the very first books inspired by the animated series reach readers worldwide is incredibly rewarding. It’s a joy to witness these beloved mice continue their adventures both on screen and in print, capturing hearts everywhere.

Gallimard will relaunch the classic first book/title Sam & Julia (that first launched in 2012) with a fresh new look and feel.

As part of this relaunch, over 210 bookstores across France that have ordered more than eight copies will receive a delightful plush version of Sam & Julia to adorn their shelves. This charming initiative is designed to capture the hearts of readers young and old alike.

As if the book releases weren’t enough, Sam & Julia are also set to return to French television! Starting March 10th, France 5 and Okoo will broadcast three episodes daily at 8:45 AM, Monday through Friday, for four weeks. This delightful schedule promises to bring the lovable mice into the homes of countless families each morning.

To amplify the excitement, discussions are underway with the Okoo social media team about potential collaborations featuring the newly released Larousse storybooks.
