Abc. Launches AirAsia Buds YouTube Animated Series

The series will be premiering on its YouTube channel on 11 April 2025 with 12 weekly episodes.

AirAsia Buds aims to engage children and families through lighthearted episodes of discovery, teamwork and friendship. The launch of the series by Abc. which specialises in the strategic development, management, licensing and merchandising of the AirAsia brand, is part of its aspiration to build an emotional connection with the next generation.

Rudy Khaw, CEO of AirAsia brand co. (Abc.), the custodian of the AirAsia master brand, said:

In today’s content landscape, YouTube has grown into the primary family entertainment hub—the perfect platform to introduce AirAsia Buds to a global audience. This series is a celebration of travel, adventure and friendship—values that are deeply embedded in AirAsia’s DNA. We’re thrilled to invite young explorers and their families to embark on this journey with us as we take you on a journey of travel but with an exciting twist.

Produced in collaboration with Moonbug Entertainment, the series introduces young audiences and families to AirAsia Buds—Tappy the adventurous tapir, Bam the zen pygmy elephant, Ogu the trendsetting orangutan and Biggie the mischief maker—as they embark on fun-filled adventures across Asean and beyond.

We’ve found success on YouTube by creating stories families love—ones that entertain, connect, and keep them coming back for more. Now we’re excited to bring that experience to AirAsia in this new series, introducing the world to Tappy, Bam, Ogu and Biggie as they go on heartwarming, beautifully animated adventures.

To build momentum for the launch, AirAsia is rolling out a series of interactive experiences for fans:

  • Mascot Appearances & Giveaways at public activation events and local schools.

  • Influencer Collaborations with parenting and family content creators.

  • Digital & Social Media Campaigns across AirAsia’s official channels, including Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
