Created in 1990, Cartoon Forum is a unique event focusing on pitching sessions of pre-selected TV projects, where animation producers can find cross-border partners and speed up financial arrangements. It allows co-productions to be finalised, pre-buys agreed, negotiation of distribution agreements, options discussed on every type of right, and licensing of secondary rights.

Next edition will take place in Toulouse, Occitanie (FR) from September 16-19 and will showcase a spotlight on Italy’s dynamic contributions to the industry. Thanks to Italian partners, Cartoon Forum offers a special rate for animation professionals from Italy.

A big news is coming with the 2024 edition. Since 2019, CARTOON has been fostering connections between publishing and animation professionals from the early stages of projects, creating business opportunities and encouraging expansion across both sectors. So this year Cartoon Forum welcomes the Bologna Children’s Book Fair (BCBF), world’s leading children’s publishing event with over 1,500 exhibitors from about 100 countries, to the event.

This new partnership with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, through its TV/Film Rights Centre designed to support networking between producers and publishers, symbolises a powerful synergy between screen and page.

BM SRL, the publisher of Licensing Magazine and The European Animation Journal, is proud to be a Media Partner of Cartoon Forum and is looking forward to gaining insights and discussing the projects that will be unveiled at this exceptional and highly anticipated event.
For any questions visit Cartoon Forum website or contact forum@cartoon-media.eu.
Cartoon Forum is a targeted event by CARTOON, an international non-profit association based in Brussels. CARTOON’s remit is to support the animation industry by organising several types of events throughout the year dedicated to animation professionals. The association was created in 1988 with the support of the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
