The animation sector in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region has seen considerable growth lately, bolstered by a dedicated fund created in 2010. This fund allocates resources for feature films, shorts, specials, and audiovisual series at various production stages, including writing and development. With a budget of 1.4 million euros, it has supported over a hundred projects since its inception, many of which are produced in 15 regional studios or by local companies primarily located in Avignon, Arles, and Marseille, helping to establish a vibrant animation hub in this attractive region. The area also boasts several renowned schools.

Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolitan area is firmly committed to developing a robust film, audiovisual, and digital industry that leverages cutting-edge technology. Tailored support is available for project promoters to address their financial needs and assist in finding optimal locations to launch or grow their businesses. The Fonds d’Aide Cinéma, Audiovisuel et Multimédia Métropolitain (FACAMM), launched in 2024 and managed by the Mission Cinéma et Tournages, aims to foster the production of high-quality, original, and innovative works in both fiction and animation.
